Mountain Biking in a rain forest

This is going to be my first (and probably only) post on mountain biking out here in Borneo. It seems there’s rather a lot of rain in a rain forest and as such the ground gets VERY waterlogged. I’ve tried a few times now to locate a suitable trail from my house in Malinau but thus far have failed. Most end up with my bike looking like this:
How to double the weight of your mountain bike

The ground is clay based which very quickly clogs up the wheels/frame, making it impossible to go very far. For now, I’m sticking with the gravel/tarmac roads which scythe their way through the jungles. Given the condition of the roads, you bloody well need a mountain bike!
