Matt Dearden is a commercial pilot and author who went from computer geek to bush pilot during a seven year adventure flying in the jungles and mountains of Indonesia. He started this website in 2012 to document his flying exploits with the Pilatus PC-6 Turbo Porter in Indonesia. He has since returned to the UK and works as corporate pilot flying the Pilatus PC-12 executive turbo-prop around Europe. He is also a TRI (Type Rating Instructor), TRE (Type Rating Examiner) and display pilot on the PBY-5A Catalina flying boat and owns a share of a Piper Supercub based near his home in the East Midlands. Outside of flying, you’ll usually find him rock climbing up a cliff-face or mountainside somewhere.
