A big thank you to all my readers

It feels like it’s been ages since I released my debut book, Flying from Shangri-La, but it was just over two weeks ago I put the pre-release copies up for sale and less than a week since the official release. It’s been a bit of a blur if I’m honest but I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who’s purchased a copy so far, and especially to those of you who’ve messaged me saying how much you’ve enjoyed reading it. It means so much to me as an indie author, who’s had to do everything myself to get this book out to you all to read, and it’s really nice to hear all my efforts have been worth it.

The first 300 signed and numbered hardback copies sold out in just over a week; a couple of days before the official release date of 28th September 2024. On that day, Amazon sold out in less than a day! A day later, the Kindle ebook version was uploaded and is starting to gain interest.

A lot of you have been asking when Amazon will restock the book and the answer is, I don’t at the moment. They do have stock of the book but for reasons I don’t understand, they’ve not cataloged them yet and so it’s still showing as 2-5 months delivery. It’s frustrating but I’m told they might take at least another week or more; probably after the Prime Day on 8-9 October 2024. Meanwhile the Kindle version is still showing as a separate listing which is further hindering people discovering the book.

What would really help people find the book is Amazon reviews. The more interest there is, the more priority Amazon’s algorithms give to the listing and restocking etc. If you enjoyed the book, I’d be eternally grateful if you could spend a minute leaving a review here: https://amzn.eu/d/04j5ljH

UPDATE: Looks like Amazon feed a few copies at a time into their stock and so they sell out quickly. I’ll post on social media when I notice they’re in stock for purchase but even if it does say 2-5 months or more for delivery, it shouldn’t be more than a few days in reality.
